Terms of Service

Strife is operated by Dominic Polihronos (trading as "Strife", referred to as "we", "our", or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Dominic Polihronos and govern your use of the Strife website, application, voice features, simulations, and related services (the "Service").

Online sales of Strife subscriptions are conducted by our reseller Paddle.com, who acts as the Merchant of Record for all such orders (see Section 7).

By creating an account, accessing, or using Strife, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Strife.

By using the Service, you confirm that:

  • you meet the minimum age requirement,
  • you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms,
  • and you will use the Service responsibly and lawfully.

2. Description of the Service

Strife is an AI-powered communication training and conflict simulation platform.

The Service may include:

  • AI-generated conversations
  • behavioural coaching
  • roleplay simulations
  • emotional analysis
  • voice interactions
  • profile tracking
  • scoring systems
  • custom scenarios
  • role reversal simulations

The Service is designed for:

  • communication practice
  • conversational strategy
  • emotional awareness
  • and simulated interpersonal training.

Strife is NOT:

  • therapy
  • mental health treatment
  • crisis intervention
  • legal advice
  • medical advice
  • or professional counselling.

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Strife uses artificial intelligence to generate:

  • dialogue
  • behavioural feedback
  • coaching
  • emotional analysis
  • and simulation outcomes.

AI-generated content may:

  • contain inaccuracies
  • misunderstand context
  • generate imperfect responses
  • or behave unpredictably.

Users understand that AI outputs are fictional simulations and should not be treated as factual, professional, or authoritative advice.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to use Strife to:

  • violate laws
  • harass real individuals
  • distribute illegal content
  • promote violence
  • engage in hate speech
  • generate extremist propaganda
  • encourage self-harm
  • impersonate others maliciously
  • abuse the platform
  • attempt to exploit or reverse engineer the Service

Users may encounter:

  • strong language
  • emotionally intense dialogue
  • manipulation themes
  • intimidation
  • and difficult conversational scenarios

as part of the simulation experience.

5. Content Moderation & Safety

Strife may limit, restrict, remove, or suspend access to content or accounts that violate these Terms.

We reserve the right to:

  • restrict abusive usage
  • block harmful content
  • disable unsafe simulations
  • or terminate accounts engaging in prohibited behaviour.

6. Account Responsibility

Users are responsible for:

  • maintaining account security
  • safeguarding login credentials
  • activity occurring under their account
  • maintaining accurate billing information

You agree to notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

7. Subscriptions, Billing & Merchant of Record

Certain features of Strife require a paid subscription.

Subscription features may include:

  • premium archetypes
  • unlimited voice mode
  • advanced simulations
  • custom scenarios
  • role reversal
  • advanced profile analysis

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Your purchase is subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms at https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms, which govern payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refunds.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Users may:

  • manage subscriptions
  • update payment methods
  • view invoices
  • or cancel subscriptions

through the in-app subscription management system or directly via Paddle at paddle.net.

Cancellation prevents future billing but may allow continued access until the current billing period ends.

8. Refunds

Strife offers a free version of the Service so you can evaluate it before purchasing Premium. Once Premium access has been granted, subscription fees are generally non-refundable, but you may cancel at any time to prevent future billing while keeping Premium access until the end of your current billing period.

Refund requests may be considered at our discretion, in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws, in cases including duplicate charges, billing errors, unauthorised transactions, technical failures that prevent use of the Service, or other exceptional circumstances. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.

Refunds are processed by Paddle.com as our Merchant of Record in accordance with Paddle's Refund Policy at https://www.paddle.com/legal/refund-policy. Any statutory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence are not affected.

9. Intellectual Property

All Strife branding, systems, designs, software, simulations, logos, UI elements, and platform content are owned by Strife unless otherwise stated.

Users may not:

  • copy
  • reproduce
  • resell
  • scrape
  • or commercially exploit

the Service without permission.

10. User-Generated Content

Users may create:

  • custom scenarios
  • roleplay inputs
  • profile data
  • conversation content

You retain ownership of your submitted content.

However, by using the Service, you grant Strife a limited license to process and store content necessary to operate the platform.

11. Availability & Service Changes

We may:

  • update features
  • modify simulations
  • change pricing
  • add/remove functionality
  • or temporarily suspend the Service

without prior notice.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Strife shall not be liable for:

  • emotional distress
  • indirect damages
  • lost profits
  • behavioural decisions made by users
  • reliance on AI-generated advice
  • or service interruptions.

Use of the Service is at your own risk.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to:

  • suspend
  • restrict
  • or terminate accounts

that violate these Terms or misuse the Service.

Users may stop using the Service at any time.

14. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically.

Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.

18. Important Notice

Strife contains:

  • emotionally intense simulations
  • strong language
  • conflict scenarios
  • manipulation themes
  • and psychologically challenging interactions.

All simulations are fictional and generated for communication training purposes only.

19. Fair Usage Policy

Strife Premium is intended for normal personal use.

While Premium features are provided on an unlimited basis, access remains subject to fair usage limits designed to protect service quality, platform stability, infrastructure costs, and the experience of other users.

Most users will never encounter these limits.

However, Strife reserves the right to investigate or restrict usage that is deemed:

  • excessive
  • automated
  • abusive
  • commercial in nature
  • designed to exploit platform resources
  • likely to negatively impact service performance

Examples may include:

  • automated usage
  • bot activity
  • account sharing
  • excessive voice usage beyond normal human usage patterns
  • excessive simulation generation
  • attempts to circumvent subscription limits
  • attempts to abuse AI infrastructure

Where reasonably possible, Strife will attempt to notify users before restrictions are applied.

This policy exists to ensure a reliable and sustainable experience for all users.
