Delete your Strife account
You can permanently delete your Strife account and the data linked to it at any time. You can do it yourself in the app, or ask us to do it if you no longer have the app or can't sign in.
Option 1: Delete it in the app or on the website
- Sign in to Strife (in the app or at usestrife.io).
- Open Account.
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap “Delete account data”.
- Confirm with “Permanently Delete Account”.
Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out. This cannot be undone.
Option 2: Request deletion without the app or account access
If you have uninstalled Strife or can't sign in, send us a deletion request through our contact form. You don't need to be signed in.
- Open the Strife contact form using the button below.
- Enter the email address linked to your Strife account.
- Write “Please delete my Strife account” in your message.
- We may email you at that address to confirm the request comes from the account owner before we delete anything.
How long it takes
In-app deletion happens immediately. We handle requests sent through the contact form as soon as we can, normally within one month after we have verified the request.
What we delete
Deleting your account permanently removes everything linked to it, including:
- Your login and sign-in methods (email/password and any Google sign-in link).
- Your profile: email address, display name, language and account details.
- All saved simulation sessions, including the messages you wrote and the transcripts of what you said in voice mode.
- Your Wit Arena history, results, scores and per-opponent records.
- Your profile analysis, custom scenarios and other text you created.
- Your saved settings and preferences.
- Your usage counters and limits.
- Your subscription and Premium entitlement records held by Strife, and any access codes you redeemed or tried.
- Diagnostic records about simulations that are linked to your account.
What may be kept, and why
A small amount of information may remain after deletion:
Anonymised usage and technical logs
Records of AI usage and cost, voice-feature reliability and purchase troubleshooting are kept for cost accounting and fixing problems, but the link to your account is removed when the account is deleted.
Email delivery records
A log of emails we sent (such as sign-up or password reset emails, including the recipient address and delivery status) and, if you unsubscribed, a do-not-email entry. These are kept to make email delivery work properly and prevent abuse.
Payment and transaction records
Payments are handled by Apple (iPhone app), RevenueCat (which manages app subscriptions for us) and Stripe (website). They keep their own transaction, tax and fraud-prevention records under their own policies and legal duties. We don't control how long they keep these.
Deletion request correspondence
If you contact us to ask for deletion, we keep that conversation as a record that we carried out your request.
Backups
Deleted data may remain in our hosting provider's secure backups for a limited time until those backups are replaced. It isn't used or restored to your account.
If you have a subscription
- Website (Stripe) subscriptions are cancelled automatically when you delete your account.
- iPhone (Apple) subscriptions are not automatically cancelled when you delete your Strife account. You must cancel them through your Apple subscription settings to stop future billing.
- Android (Google Play) subscriptions are not automatically cancelled when you delete your Strife account. You must cancel them through Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions to stop future billing.
- Deleting your Strife account removes Strife's own Premium and account records, but Apple or Google may continue billing until the store subscription itself is cancelled.
Data on your device
When you delete your account in the app, Strife also clears its private data stored on that device. Uninstalling the app removes the rest. On the website, you can clear your browser data for usestrife.io to remove anything left behind.
Deleted accounts and data can't be recovered. You're welcome to create a new account later, but your previous history won't come back.
